36hr long 21st Birthday
Had a wonderful birthday yesterday
Pizza party at the work place (although the pizza wasn’t very nice)
Followed by a SOP of the rides in the water park (although we were supposed to ride them)
Ended quite early, so we went to the beach!!
It was really awesome man…the waves, the clean (icy) water and the fine sand
Played captain’s ball, took many photos, and got thrown into the icy water
Went home to cook a delicious dinner
And then my lovely friends surprised me with a cake!
Gonna go help test out the rides today and then help with another lifeguard test
After that there’s work at AP again from 5-11pm
Hope I get to operate my ride instead of being a cleaner

wanted to post this ytd but the net was down...
haven't had much time to blog these few days
was busy the whole weekend with work
saturday & sunday was not too bad
working as a ride operator at Adventure Pier
it was the first weekend open since september last yr
i feel so happy to see the little kids get all excited and have great big smiles on their faces when they sit on the rides
but it was really tiring11am til abt 2plus then a 15min break, then half an hr break for dinner at abt 6, then another 15mins at 8plus, 9.ended at 11pm
i just collapsed on the bed when i gt back
sunday wasn't that bad cos we ended at 5pm
monday had a swim test to see if we could be lifeguards
swim 200m and pick sth up from a 3m pool
was soooo happy cos i really missed the water
today we started trg...learnt CPR and some rescue drills in the water
it was fun! but FREEZINGGgggg when the wind blew (which was almost all the time)water park's (called raging waters) gonna open this weekend
so this is kinda like a mini trg just so that we can be ready this weekend
the nxt week we'll get the very proper trg for the certification and the license
tmr's gonna be another day of trg
and then thurs have some pizza party followed by playin on the rides to learn them! so fun!like a party for my birthday! haha
talking abt pizza, I AM FAT
its just pizza, pizza & more western food & pizza ard here
although i run, it's not enoughhhhh!!! arghhhhhhhhhthe cold weather doesn't help man.u just feel hungry so fast
just had 3 slices for dinner cos we had some ride operator's social night at our workplace
had fun playing silly games
i can finally sleep w/o waking up in the middle of the night due to the cold
life here has been getting better and the weather is really nice
really sunny in the day, not that coldthe wind's still v strong and cold though
found some places with my friends names

i'm finally an adult.not like i want to be one.hahahahaha...

summer's finally coming

weather was really gd today..kinda burnt now...had fun
its the cold that makes me feel so miserable

Beach Jam
first weekend here
its really different
all the shops are open and there're so many ppl
this weekend is special, some event called the Beach Jam
where all the scouts gather at the beach
pitch their tents, and stay over
the sight is spectacular...
hundreds of tents all over the beach
and the beach is really hugeeeeee
too bad i don't have pics of it...
total sai kang day
after our trial runs and cleaning up of the whole AP
we went over to Mariner's Landing to help
humbled by the experience
we were cleaning the toilets
constantly sweeping it, getting rid of the sand
sweeping everywhere of the sand
and obviously it's never ending cos every where's sand
back breaking job man
5 hrs of that
but it's the first time meeting/seeing so many American ppl
i'd say there're many nice ones..really friendly and polite
and there're the racist ones...
oh well, tryin to get used to the insults...
some of them really just think that the whole world is all abt America
how shallow...oh well, their loss, not mine
ok i'm gonna slp now..totally tired and aching
10am-11pm today
1030am-11pm tomorrow
need God to help me survive and stop me from going insane

First day of work
was kinda my first day at work yesterday
we reported to Adventure Pier, the furthest away from our house
think its the smaller of the 3 piers also...
cos we were lifeguards, we were given the smaller rides to handle
we'll have our lifeguard shift in the day and then ride operators in the night
but the water rides are nt open yet, so for this weekend we'll be ride operators.. im in charge of a very easy ride called the "Apache".haha...helicoptors!
the season's not here yet and the weather's still quite cold
today's very cold, weather.com shows a 10deg C...
predicted to storm again..hope it doesn't man
that's why the theme park's only open on weekends now..
it'll fully open in a few weeks...
so, we had to study the ride manuals
then had a short training with the "supervisors"
then had a short MCQ/T or F test (i got full marks.haha)
after that we did some cleaning up of the grand prix cars
and then we rode em for ~15mins! super fun! haha
why i say "supervisors" (quote, unquote) is cos i do not see them as supervisors at all they are really biased against asians
our "supervisors" are some young punks who have not even been here before
and they applied for a job just like us
and they're our supervisors.oh well
while they were "training" me, they were gg on and on abt the party they had yesterday
or what they wanted to have for lunch
goodness...how unprofessional
the wind was (and still is) superrrrrrr coldddddddd
the sun is hot,but when the wind blows...........you freeze.really freeze
we went to Rio Grande after work for some chinese buffet
it's only abt an 8min bus ride from here
the food was SUPERB
and the best of all, we made new friends!!
made frens with the sporeans from the house nxt door
they're really a hilarious bunch of ppl man
had loads of fun with them..now the group is like huge
went to this place called ROSS and K Mart too
the textiles here are really cheap man
food's ex but shoes, clothes etc etc really cheap
there's a cinema there too..they watched spidey3 there last weeek
think we'll watch shrek 3 there together
some of the locals are really unfriendly man (well most of them are)
on the bus back, we were just talking normally
and the woman infront went "would you mind???!!!"
so we were like "whaatt??huh?" and we laughed a bit at her grouchy-ness
she replied "ha ha ha ha ha, very funny huh?"
could hv slapped her face man
when she got off she went "ha ha ha ha ha" again
what a b****
and there were some blacks sitting infront of my friends
the bus lights were turned off for awhile and u could turn on ur own indiv light
my friend wanted to look at her new radio, so she turned her light on
and they were like "what....turn on the lights for what?turn it off!"
my friends dint hear it, but i heard....tsk tsk tsk tsk
the ppl are like how unfriendly.....i'd say worse than s'poreans la
today we're gonna have a trial run
pretend the pier's open, and run our rides like how we would
then gotta do cleaning up again...
saturday its gonna open and there'll be some guests..
i hope the sun will come out man! if nt i'll just freeze...

Rain
it's raining now
the weather man predicted some big storm with lotsa wind and maybe some hail
but thank God it was only rain, not very heavy...
but its colddddddd!! and of all days, we had training at MP til 9.30p.m.
walked back in the rain, but good thg i had an umbrella
regret giving the thick jacket to craig to bring back
this jacket that i have here can't keep out the wind!
think i'll go buy one tmr..saw it selling at US$5
went for a jog again today.felt really good..running against the wind
the boardwalk is quite short, a total of 15mins for the whole stretch
Morey's Piers has 3 parts to it that stretchs along the whole boardwalk
will put pics of it up soon
Moreyentation today was ok, but a bit boring
was rather tiring though, cos immediately aft tt was the Universal Ride Operator Course
kept falling aslp.haha....3pm-9.30pm
