dinah loves the beach

ok i'll update this blog now
been losing track of days cos there's work almost everyday
and we just take each day as it comes
let's see...i'll start from the busy weekend after the first week of training
it was memorial weekend...the water park was open on Saturday
the weather was superb...nice and sunny
guarding was tiring, but was a new experience
there're many spots in the water park to guard
so each of us stay there for ~30-45minsand then we change a spot on a rotation basis, with different spots in different routes
the system of rotation is very interesting man...very unique
but kinda hard to explain
anyways, we gotta scan our area in 10secs
moving our head up down up down up down then sweep the bottom back to the original spot
and every 5 mins a bell will go "ding dong, ding dong" and we'll hafta walk around to keep us alert
worked sat, sun, mon
after that, i kept hearing the ding dongs even at home
working hours ~9.30am-6pm, then headed to AP at 7.30pm to help with the rides
never seen the piers & boardwalk sooooooooooo crowded before
the waterpark and the piers were crazily full of ppl

tues went to atlantic city
shopping!! very happy cos the pants and shorts fit me very well here
so hard to find in spore
bought fossil watchs..super cheap
and GAP clothing..its like our giordano in spore.dirt cheap
had a superb lunch at this restaurant, Ruby Tuesday
then went to visit the boardwalk there too
very different from our boardwalk
it's so commercialised...so many casinos
went to trump's taj mahal casino
was an eye opener..never been to a casino before
had a great day and then it was work again

weds-friday the waterpark had an education extravaganza thg
the high schools nearby had field trips to the waterpark
there were soooo many kids man
they said there were ~2500 kids
saw many hunks and babes but they're all so young
the ppl here are all so young, but they look so mature
the sun was up everyday, so we're all chao da now
but then the wind became very cold
so we were cold and chao da
cos we had to get into the water for this ride called the sky ponds
had to push ppl down on their floats
so it's freezing when we get out and the wind blows at the subsequent spots that we guard
the crowd on saturday was ok
not that crowded
and there were dirt bikes racing on the beach nxt to the pier
very cool to see them race, but their engines were terribly noisy
became quite a noise pollution
and then, it stormed on Sunday
rained quite heavily and gusty winds blew
so all the piers were closed
we were soooooo happy to get a break
went to rio grande (our fav hangout) which was an approx 15 min bus ride
shopped til evening
got a pair of levi's at US$12!! Haha
stuff here's super cheap man

had lifeguard trg again today and for the nxt 3 days too
cos there're many other new guards
did the stuff we learn the last time all over again
think we're pro at CPR alr man

i finally did what i wanted to do ever since I knew I was coming here
went for a run ON the beach
barefoot
shiooooooooooook
and played in the icy cold water
been dreaming abt this day since dunno when
it was awesome
realised i'm always near the beach
in spore, from east coast to west coast
and now i'm just a 5mins walk to the atlantic ocean
wow

i'll upload more pictures soon, but for now just some random pix
quote of the day by my mom..i find it hilarious man
"why the beach no trees one"
